Eco Club was formed on June 27, 2008 in a brief function held at school’s Cariappa Hall. Mrs. Angau I. Thou, Joint Secretary, Department of School Education formally inaugurated the club in the presence of Heuneilung, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Ngwalwa Range, N Mesen, DC Peren, Gp Capt B Janardhanan, the Principal, staff and cadets of the school. Mrs. Thou in a short speech encouraged the gathering to plant more and more trees. The club consists of 52 members including two teachers. The inaugural function was followed by a plantation drive.
Under the enthusiastic guidance of Mr. Kanu Barman, the Teacher I/C of the club, total 2600 saplings have been planted in the school premises till the end of October 2009. All the members of the club joined a plantation drive carried out by the 20th Assam Rifles, Medziphema in July, 2009 planting 500 saplings in the AR campus.
Horses have always been believed to be the representatives of courage, speed and strength while for the riders it is confidence, synchronization and aspiration which play a vital role when striding to ride high. Riding has been a princely sport since time immemorial. Punglwains are privileged to have a full fledged Equestrian Club in the school. Starting with two horses on December 28, 2007 the club has as many as six horses now with 60 riding members. Let the weak become strong being the motto, the club encourages non-members too. The teacher I/C of the club is Mr. Henminlal.
Sainik School Punglwa Photography Club is the most dynamic club amongst the various clubs in the school. Be it sun or rain , the scorching heat of june or the freezing cold of December, it is always at the forefront always ready to perform its duties by capturing whatever activities or events that are organized in the school. Right from the visits of VVIPS to the farewell of any staff members it never fails to capture any moments through the camera.
Photography Club of the School is headed by Mr. Keshav Adhikary Chhetry and assisted by Mr. Vijaya Kumar since May 2012. This club has so far captured over more than ten thousand photos related to various aspects of the school. The club provides the photographs for preparing School Magazines and School Calendars too.This club plays the most important role in showcasing the image of the school to the outside world.
Ramanujam Club Activities
The club activities vary from class to class and includes discussion and solving of mathematical problems. some of the activities are:
Participation in Math Olympiads and other competitions. Conduct of mathematics quiz Organising general and extra reading in Mathematics
Study of various math based puzzles, Developing models and aids to facilitate a better grasp of mathematical concepts.
